5 Inspirational Quotes for Health Professionals.
Using quotes on occasions can be quite inspirational in team meetings, ward rounds and in teaching registrars and students. Here are some of my favourites. (Although you will have to figure out how to condense the first one!)
“We look for medicine to be an orderly field of knowledge and procedure. But it is not. It is an imperfect science, an enterprise of constantly changing knowledge, uncertain information, fallible individuals, and at the same time lives on the line. There is science in what we do, yes, but also habit, intuition, and sometimes plain old guessing. The gap between what we know and what we aim for persists. And this gap complicates everything we do.” – Atul Gawande
“Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence” – Unknown
“Never become so much of an expert that you stop gaining expertise. View life as a continuous learning experience.” – Denis Waitley
“He who studies medicine without books sails an uncharted sea, but he who studies medicine without patients does not go to sea at all.” – Sir William Osler
“It is much more important to know what sort of a patient has a disease than what sort of a disease a patient has.” – Sir William Osler
